eStarling Digital Photo Frame, now with Facebook

Friday, June 13th, 2008

It has been a while since we have written about the eStarling Digital Photo Frame, but they have made some recent advancements that are worth talking about all over again.

The latest 8-inch digital photo frame from eStarling’s is Wi-fi capable, but that really isn’t anything new. What is new is that the frame is made for Facebook support. All a user has to do is provide his or her username and password, and when his or her friends upload their pictures, they will be automatically downloaded directly into the frame with a resolution of 800×600 pixels.

All this will insure that the content on the frame is constantly changing, without having to hook it up to the computer and do the constant downloading and erasing that usually occurs when updating digital picture frames. You can download through a memory card slot that supports MMC, SD, MS, and CF formats.

Another terrific feature is the frame’s ability to allow the user to email the pictures, even when on the move. It even comes with some spam-blocking software in order to prevent the frame from getting email from unauthorized email addresses.

The eStarling Digital Picture frame is available for $450 with a Black Piano Finish.

Palm planning to sell 2 million Centro’s before 2008 ends

Friday, June 13th, 2008

Palm has been getting some much needed traction from the Centro, with the handset now available with Sprint, AT&T and Verizon Wireless here in the US it can only be expected to see good sales, especially with its $99 price tag.

If you remember Palm announced back in late-March that they had sold one million Centro’s and they have also recently announced that they are well on there way to hitting the 2 million mark. According to a company representative, they “are confident we will get there in 2008.”

With a company that has seen (and taken) more than its fair share of criticism, its nice to see them having some success. Its been a while since I have used a Palm on a regular basis, but I would still say I am a fan, and will be rooting for them.

Sony Ericsson Alicia Walkman; leaked promo video

Friday, June 13th, 2008

After watching this video, we can only hope that “Alicia” will be one of the devices that launches during the upcoming Sony Ericsson event on June 17. The video offers some great insight to this handset, what we previously thought was nothing more than a large circular shaped external music control turns out to be much more exciting, it appears to be a second display. Which means Alicia features two external display screens, and that second display also functions as a shortcut key, which has various functions depending on which application you are using.
